About The Artist

Kevin Pierce

Kevin Pierce has spent a lifetime building worlds — on screen, on stage, and in the air. At the heart of his practice is a lifelong pursuit of kinetic art: handcrafted mobiles of found objects, sculpted wire, and acrylic that transform stillness into motion and balance into poetry. Informed by over 30 years designing environments for film, television, and live events, Kevin brings a rare depth of spatial intelligence to every work he creates.

"A gentle breeze, a sudden gesture, or an exhalation can change the movement of a suspended mobile in unpredictable ways. Mobiles are a symbol of polarity — and a reminder of the vagaries of life."

Running as a constant through all of Kevin's work — sculpture, interior design, and the cinematic environments of his film career — is a profound attentiveness to light and shadow. Light is not decoration; it is the medium through which space is truly perceived. The arc of the sun through a window, the cool stillness of moonlight, a carefully angled interior illumination — each transforms a room, a surface, or a suspended mobile into something that breathes and shifts with time. A mobile without light casts no shadow; a room without considered light has no soul. For Kevin, designing with light is inseparable from designing at all.

This philosophy of balance, movement, and illumination extends naturally into his work as an interior designer. Kevin's current vision unites all three disciplines into a singular practice: designing complete environments conceived from the outset around his own kinetic sculptures, where architecture, furnishings, light, and the suspended, breathing mobile exist in deliberate harmony. It is space as art, and art as space.
